Merriman impresses again, Fitz finally connects on longball

Just a few quick tidbits from camp today:

  • Shawn Merriman was the standout player from more than a few first-hand accounts. Merriman tweeted about it saying, "Great day of practice got the night off what should we do?" Donte Whitner also threw some props Shawne's way, "heard ur looking really good bro....much respect keep it going." Mark Ludwiczak tweeted "After back-to-back plays by Merriman, Fitz even took a second to shake his hand and acknowledge his work. OLB off to a great start." Like I said yesterday, keep this man healthy until September 11th and I'll be extremely excited..
  • Also, Ryan Fitzpatrick connected with Lee Evans for a 40-yard touchdown down the left sideline for the first long Touchdown of camp. Fitz has been a bit off with the longball although he came close yesterday with a long pass to Stevie Johnson that hit Stevie's hands in the endzone. Considering it's the first week of camp, this is nothing to be worried about.
Just a reminder - no camp tomorrow. The boys have off and get back at it on Thursday. Check out Buffalobills.com later on for the highlights of today's camp.
